An inter-LGU alliance meeting held at the Rosvenil Hotel in Tacloban City to review financial status, annual dues, contributions, and proposed 2023 activities. The meeting marked a transition in leadership, selecting Mayor Kwan as the new chairperson of the alliance.

GDFI acts as a core partner and technical driver for the Alliance of Seven coastal municipalities sharing the northern Leyte Gulf. GDFI facilitated the creation of the A7 Strategic Plan for 2026–2030 to unify regional fisheries management across the seven LGUs.

GDFI facilitated the review, revision, and ongoing integration of a Uniform Municipal Fisheries Ordinance (MFO) across seven local government units to harmonize marine resource governance across 24 MPAs in the northern Leyte Gulf.

GDFI mobilized resources from individual donors for a fundraising campaign aimed at rebuilding the Bagonbanua Training and Research Station, originally destroyed by Typhoon Haiyan. The station is intended to provide hands-on training in coastal resource assessment and monitoring for students, researchers, and study groups.

Blue Carbon Sediment Assessment (INSPIRE Project)

Under the INSPIRE Project for Inclusive Growth and Regenerative Ecosystems and the MAP-ELCA project, GDFI partnered with ICSC to map and assess blue carbon sediment stock (carbon stored in mangroves and seagrasses) in selected areas of Guiuan, Salcedo, Mercedes, Paranas, and Samar to mitigate climate change.
