GDFI participated in this conference held at IIRR, Cavite, and the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) to share experiences and learn best practices for building disaster-resilient coastal communities across Asian countries.

Coastal Greenbelt Establishment Project

Active throughout 2017 and 2019

Displaced families moving to the G2A village left vacant coastal spaces where around 1,000 beach trees and bamboos were planted to create a greenbelt buffer against future typhoons and storm surges.

Adopting a ridge-to-reef framework to build community climate resilience and safeguard Lawaan's biodiversity. GDFI also sponsored the field research expenses of BS Biology graduating students from UPVTC in 2017 and 2018.

Eskwela Haiyan (EH) Scholarship Program

Started 2015, runs continuously

A scholarship program helping underprivileged children affected by Typhoon Haiyan stay in school. It provides financial allowances of ₱12,000/year for high school students and ₱5,000 to ₱8,000/semester for state college students.
